9-11-2001

For the events that transpired on September 11, 2001. I think this one - which I posted a few days ago - unites our anguish with Him who also suffered.

Wojciech Kilar: Agnus Dei - Choir of Versija

Paramedicgirl, Kilar's Agnus Dei is the one I wrote to you about in a previous email.

Thanks, Tom. I'm listening to it now.

Tom, I left a comment on this music on your earlier post but I think blogger ate it. This music fills me with a profound sadness, as if I was standing at the foot of the Cross, dark clouds gathering, and a cold wind blowing. Looking up at our Savior, eyes blurred by tears. It is the most evocative Agnus Dei I have ever heard. Thank you!

Shirley-

This Agnus Dei highlights both the agony of the Crucifixion as well as the anguish of those who saw him crucified.

This is why I think it went to well with the 9-11 anniversary. This piece is imbued with the incomprehensible destruction of human life as well as the agony of those who lost a loved one.

It does evoke for me the same imagery you described.
