To All the Critters Great and Small

Blessing of the Animals

God Our Heavenly Father, You created the world to serve humanity's needs and to lead them to You. By our own fault we have lost the beautiful relationship which we once had with all your creation. Help us to see that by estoring our relationship with You we will also restore it
with all Your creation. Give us the grace to see all animals as gifts from You and to treat them with respect for they are Your creation.

We pray for all animals
who are suffering as a result of our neglect.
May the order You originally established
be once again restored to the whole world
through the intercession of the Glorious Virgin Mary,
the prayers of Saint Francis
and the merits of Your Son,
Our Lord Jesus Christ
Who lives and reigns with You
now and forever. Amen.

May the Lord bless all those small, big, furry, flabby, lazy, mischievous, four-legged members of your family!

Great picture of your own furry little Critter! My critter count is 2 dogs, 2 cats, 7 horses with 2 more scheduled to arrive in April!

Oh, also love the music- clicked on O come Emmanual right away; my fave Christmas song.

My gosh, Shirley, with so many four-legged little ones and big ones to take care of, not to mention the ones that are in the way, you might need the blessings more than they do! LOL.

Extra blessing to Critter. I wish I could fly out there and give him a big ol'Auntie A hug...

Great post! Although little guy passed away on September 5th I loved the prayer. So beautiful.

I LOVE the Christmas music!! I've been playing it at home off and on for about two weeks now. :-)

Auntie A-

The Critter would love an Auntie A hug:0) He so spoiled!

Terry-

Here in Vegas, the malls are ALREADY decking out their Christmas merchandise. It's an exercise in futility though, since the economic situation all but guarantees a rather dismal holiday season for retailers.

Jessica-

I so sorry you lost your little guy. My heart goes out to you. I know that over time, they take on the qualities of a human being and are valued as a full member of the family. Again, I'm so sorry for your lost.

Tracy-

Thank you. I believe you have a dog, too, don’t you?

Your dog is SO cute! I always miss the blessing of the animals. A friend and I were going to take our dogs last year, but the day we decided to look it up was literally like two days too late.
