Hey, James Bond fans, recognize any of these?

Rita Coolidge sings for 007 "All Time High."

In this video Louis Armstrong sings "We Have All the Time in the World."

Nancy Sinatra performs "You Only Live Twice."

And last but not least, Shirley Bassey's "Moonraker."

I grew up listening to these songs and at an early age became a fan of John Barry's sweeping melodies and rich accompaniments. His music has often been characterized by a certain poignancy that makes nostalgia almost inevitable when you listen to it (see Out of Africa soundtrack).

And, yes, I'm also a fan of James Bond movies with Roger Moore and Sean Connery as my two favorite 007's.

Love Louis Armstrong. And I'm with you on Sean and Roger; the newer ones don't quite have that touch of class.

Ew! James Bond! They have resurrected him a few too many times IMO. Shirley, I had no idea you were a closet 007 fan. I can see why guys like the concept - fast cars, glamorous women, daring stunts and one thrill after another - all from the safety of your couch!

Shirley-

Ditto.

PG-

You have an extraordinary ability to understand the male mind. There's just simply no fooling you:0)

More than James Bond, however, I like John Barry. Not only did he write the songs featured in these videos, but he also wrote the famous “Born Free” theme song.
