The Little Critter is home and resting comfortably. He seems a little subdued, and I'm guessing that is due to the pain medication the doctor gave us to administer. He will be on anti-biotics for the next six weeks, and on Monday he's back to the vet to have the stitches removed. I would like to thank once again all my blogger friends for you prayers, concern, and well wishes! *MUAH* to all of you (except if your a guy)!
The doctor gave specific instructions that he is to drink a lot of water, something we have not forced him to do. He's been at his bowl several times today, and shows signs of returning many times more.
You know, he was scheduled for a bath and haircut - which he hates more than the doctor - before this happened. Now we have to wait a few weeks until he is all healed before we can bathe him and groom him.
Makes you wonder if the little bugger had this all planed out.

Thank goodness!
and...if he eats dry food mix in a bit of special wet food (or cooked chicken and rice) and tons of water to keep his fluids up. For the chicken just get frozen boned chicken tenders and boil them in some water and add some minute rice.
Auntie A-
He likes seared foie gras with pain perdu in a fresh cranberry compote. LOL! Actually, the food I give him I buy straight from the vet - Hill's Prescription Diet r/d - and it's suppose to be healthier for him. Per the doctor, today he received his meal mixed with low sodium chicken broth. He gobbled it up in no time flat! Oh, and the doctor made no mention of the possibility of him picking at his stitches. I'll have to keep an eye on him to make sure. Take care:0)
Glad your Critter is on the mend. Here is a link on dog health that you might find interesting:

I'm sorry - I just found out today. I'm glad he is better.
Poor little guy.
A couple weeks ago my dogs got sick and my Maltese got a fever and refused to drink water.
I held her over the sink and put water in my cupped hand. I had to coax for a while but once she got the idea she drank quite a bit.
It worked for me.
Blessings on your little patient!
So pleased the surgery was successful. Having had no internet access while away, this is the first I have heard of Critter's problems.
(((hugs to your little one)))
Glad he's on the road to recovery! And it's nice that he gets yummy food... the way to a dog's heart is definitely through his stomach.
I'm glad he's ok. He's so cute, I can hardly stand to look!
Terry and Cathy- Thank you!
Katie-
There is nothing my dog wouldn't do for grub. If you ever need a hitman, a psychic reading, a clown for a toddler's b-day, or a model to pose in the buff, just give him a treat then make your selection. LOL!
Shirley-
Thank you for your well wishes. The website you mentioned is packed with info and I have added it to my favorites. Thanks!
ukok-
Back from vacation already? Do you feel like you need a vacation to get over your vacation? LOL! Thanks for stopping by:D
Jaimie-
I'm sorry to hear about your wee ones getting sick. I hope they're doing better now, poor things. It's nice to know our dogs have owners who care, don't you think? :0)
So glad the cute little puffball is better! Oh I want one just like him! :)
~Georgette
(and Mimi, who also thinks he is the cutest little fluffball we have ever seen!)
Update needed. Yes?
Mimi (or is it Georgette)-
Thank you (both!) for your kind words. Let Mimi know the Critter is very friendly, and would love to be her pal:D
I've had him for almost 9 years and NOT ONCE have I heard him growl.
God bless you both!
Glad your little critter is OK...and such a cute little guy. I bet it's really easy to spoil him at the moment :)
Wonderful news about Little Critter! We're great fans of the Little Critter series by Mercer Mayer so we can't help but think of your little one whenever we read them!
Vicki-
Wow! I had no idea there was a pre-existing series about a Little Critter. Must look into it! Thanks:0)
I didn't know until I had a preschooler! They are really cute books.
So glad your little critter is home!!!!
I'm so happy he's home and doing better! He's such a cutie!
