Ladies & Gentlemen

...meet Toby.

This is him in the grass early this morning.

Someone else had to hold him while I took a picture of him at the vet's.

He is NOT a replacement, or a band-aid, or a temporary fix to a profound loss. He is a CONTINUATION of what we had before.

Things you should know about him:

1) He's notorious. He chews on just about anything, which has prompted me to take precautionary measures.
2) He likes to bounce up and down a lot.
3) He hasn't fully learned how to bark.
4) You have to be careful where you walk because he could be following you without you knowing it.
5) He's 3.7lbs!!
6) Has the energy of a jumping-jack fire cracker.
7) He is LOVED.

Again, I would like to thank all of you for your encouragement and for your support in acquiring a new pet. The Critter - in all seriousness - still missed.

Where on earth do you find the cutest dogs in the world? He's like an angel poop. (LOL--Is that vulgar? Forgive me.) He's absolutely adorable. Congratulations, and I'm so happy Toby is helping you to heal.

There are a lot of dogs out there who need someone to love them. Please don't feel like you have to defend this decision. Love is multiplied, not divided.

Thank you to all of you. He's a bundle of energy!

Shirley-

He's a Pekingese.

Three more questions...

How old is he?

How big will he get?

And, what are his favorite colors?

Tom in Vegas said...

Katie-

1)He's 11 weeks old.
2) Between 18 - 22 inches
3) I'm not sure what he's favorite color is, since we have not spoken about it. He does, however, like to read the New York Times:0)

SCREAM... oh my goodness me.. he is soooooooo sweet!!!! Congrats:)

Katie Alender said...

Didn't you two fill out the online e-dog-harmony questionnaires? What if he's a pastel guy and you're into earth tones?

Tom in Vegas said...

Katie-

I don't think he cares too much about colors, as long as they taste good (he has an awesome appetite).

Nope. No questionnaires were filled out by either one of us. He just sort of fell from the sky - like “angel poop!” :0)

Welcome Toby! The Overlords send their regards. (I am sure Critter is very pleased he has a good successor.)

(BTW Toby is his slave name. His real name in Kunta Kinte.)

He is adorable!!! Oh my goodness - 3.7 pounds? That's smaller than a premie! He will be keeping you busy, no doubt. Congratulations on your new pet.

Katie: "angel poop" ROFL!

Tom: I'm so happy for you. I hope Toby will be a good friend and companion to you. I know he is no replacement for Critter-and you know this already. Each animal is unique and different. Critter will always be special. Toby will be too but in different ways.

SO CUTE!!!!
