Someone else had to hold him while I took a picture of him at the vet's.
He is NOT a replacement, or a band-aid, or a temporary fix to a profound loss. He is a CONTINUATION of what we had before.
Things you should know about him:
1) He's notorious. He chews on just about anything, which has prompted me to take precautionary measures.
2) He likes to bounce up and down a lot.
3) He hasn't fully learned how to bark.
4) You have to be careful where you walk because he could be following you without you knowing it.
5) He's 3.7lbs!!
6) Has the energy of a jumping-jack fire cracker.
7) He is LOVED.
Again, I would like to thank all of you for your encouragement and for your support in acquiring a new pet. The Critter - in all seriousness - still missed.

Congratulations on your new baby!
Where on earth do you find the cutest dogs in the world? He's like an angel poop. (LOL--Is that vulgar? Forgive me.) He's absolutely adorable. Congratulations, and I'm so happy Toby is helping you to heal.
There are a lot of dogs out there who need someone to love them. Please don't feel like you have to defend this decision. Love is multiplied, not divided.
HOW CUTE IS HE?!?
I'm sure Little Critter is happy you have another little critter to love!
Congratulations, he is so cute! Toby is a lucky pup, he has found a great home. Vicki is right, Critter would want you to love another pet.
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you and your new pup!
I promise to post Mia pics soon!!! Thanks so much for stopping by... it's been tooooo long.
I hope you are doing OK.
Melissa
I am SMILING SO BIG... EAR TO EAR kind of smile!!! Should have named him BEAN with all that jumping :O) But Toby works! I'm loving him too. Glad he's with you, you have so much heart!
Toby is as cute as a bug's ear! You are going to be very busy with him, seems like he has a lot of energy! What breed is he?
He's so cute!!
I like the "continuation", very Benedict XVI....
Hello Toby it is good to meet you!
Oh - my heart is already bursting with love for Toby (you too).
What an angel!!
Thank you to all of you. He's a bundle of energy!
Shirley-
He's a Pekingese.
Three more questions...
How old is he?
How big will he get?
And, what are his favorite colors?
Katie-
1)He's 11 weeks old.
2) Between 18 - 22 inches
3) I'm not sure what he's favorite color is, since we have not spoken about it. He does, however, like to read the New York Times:0)
SCREAM... oh my goodness me.. he is soooooooo sweet!!!! Congrats:)
Didn't you two fill out the online e-dog-harmony questionnaires? What if he's a pastel guy and you're into earth tones?
Katie-
I don't think he cares too much about colors, as long as they taste good (he has an awesome appetite).
Nope. No questionnaires were filled out by either one of us. He just sort of fell from the sky - like “angel poop!” :0)
Hi Tom,
lovely dog! And a nice name too! Toby - I like that. He looks the sort to get right into your heart...
Welcome Toby! The Overlords send their regards. (I am sure Critter is very pleased he has a good successor.)
(BTW Toby is his slave name. His real name in Kunta Kinte.)
He is adorable!!! Oh my goodness - 3.7 pounds? That's smaller than a premie! He will be keeping you busy, no doubt. Congratulations on your new pet.
Oh, very sweet!!! He is loved--I love him just looking at him--Stella and I want to play with him. Congratulations on your new family member :)
Katie: "angel poop" ROFL!
Tom: I'm so happy for you. I hope Toby will be a good friend and companion to you. I know he is no replacement for Critter-and you know this already. Each animal is unique and different. Critter will always be special. Toby will be too but in different ways.
SO CUTE!!!!
Toby is so cute I can't stand it! Just like Critter who was also so cute I couldn't stand it!
