The Critter passed away just a few minutes ago. He was our beloved pet and companion, who brought tremendous joy and happiness to our lives. He leaves a tremendous hole in his absence, as he was loved and cared for as a human being.

For give me if I don't post a picture of him. It's too difficult for me to look at him right now.

Thank you to all of you who prayed for his well being.

To all of you, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. You're kind words and empathy makes this so much more bearable. God bless.

How sad! I am thankful that he stayed with you over Christmas; and that he was called home on a Sunday. God must have loved him too. Hugs to you, Tom.

Tom
I just wanted to tell you I am so sorry - this has been a tough year for our 4 legged friends - my cat died a few weeks ago(he was 13). There will always be that little space that they filled that no other can fulfill.
Our prayers are with you

I'm so sorry for your loss.

You may have already read this poem. It's from an old Norse legend.

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Tom,

I'm sorry for your loss and grief. I know it hurts to lose a pet, and I haven't had a pet since GobbleDog, and that's been nearly 20 years.

I hope that the lonliness and grief pass for you quickly.

I'm sorry for your loss. We know your pain. We lost our beloved pet cat Jazz in June of this year.

They're so much more than pets, they're part of our family and will be forever missed.

I'm so sorry to hear your news. I lost my beloved German Shepherd in April, and I still miss her terribly. Having discussed the matter with some clever priests, I'm looking forward to seeing her again, together with all my loved ones, DV, when my time's up. God bless.

Dear Tom,

I am so sorry about Critter. Pets, especially dogs, are such blessings in our lives. I suspect that heaven will be full of dogs as it would not be heaven without them.

Hey, Tom. Still thinking of you and hoping you're finding comfort.

I believe that every day a dog is loved and cared for is the perfect day for that dog. I'm sure the Critter lived a heaven on earth in your care. Now he's in God's care and waiting to see you again, I'm sure.

Happy new year. :-)

Tom,
I was so sorry to read about Critter. I have been off the blogging for a while due to high needs of my children, fighting abortion, and working to make my family well taken care of. We just returned from our travels to IN for the Christmas Season.

I am so sorry for your loss and keep you in my prayers. I know this is a difficult time for you and I know your strong faith will pull you through.

Blessed be God Forever!

Kimberly
