For the Immaculate Heart of Mary (I know. I'm late.)

I must apologize for my untimely observation, but I wanted to post this for the feast day of The Immaculate Heart of Mary. Unfortunately the feast day passed without my contribution. This is the Salve Regina by my current favorite composer Arvo Part.

Important: Please ignore the absurd commentary/ imagery of this video. Just stay focused on the music. I'm going to try to look for a different video that offers this same piece of music. Pause Music Player to the right of the blog before continuing

Hi Tom,
Luke is back now - I've taken his military portrait down - so feel free to join me!

Wow. The subtitles are in Dutch and the video calls her a night goddess. Yikes.

Angela-

I'm glad to hear that Luke is back safe from Afghanistan. I have removed his picture from the blog just as you requested.

YES, you have to IGNORE the rather absurd commentary of this video. Just stay focused on the MUSIC. You can't go wrong with Part. I will put up a disclaimer to make sure others ignore the crap.

I had to translate the whole thing. Here goes:

The earth crys
Mother of mercy
Our hope
Child of Eve
To you we sigh
Valley of tears
Direct your suffering eyes to us
O generous, loving
Night goddess
Dream face

Tom - feel free to delete this comment!!!

And thanks for taking Luke's photo down - I do appreciate that it was up and that you prayed for him!!

Angela-

I had a different translation that was just as questionable. Thank God Part DOES NOT have that in his piece!

These are the pitfalls of working with YouTube. As has happened many times before, you have a beautiful piece of music and some New Age quack comes along and mucks it up with their "magic"!
